Commercial development – Restorative retreat

About This Project

Jorges Salman Architects was approached to produce a feasibility study for a commercial project on an existing plot of land in Eastbourne. The approach to the concept and scheme design was led by the brief, namely to produce a sustainable complex for rehabilitation, recharge, and restorative experiences. JSA produced a scheme which adhered to the complex client brief, but importantly, also aimed at minimal impact on the existing natural landscape of the site. The creation of a design which promotes harmony with its surroundings.

The proposed scheme looks to achieve high levels of carbon offset and on-site energy production, including the use of ground-source heat pumps, a significant number of solar panels across all roof areas, and high levels of insulation throughout the built fabric.
