Jorges Salman Architects has been appointed from RIBA Stage 1-6 for a commercial project on an existing industrial site in Epsom. The approach to the concept and scheme design hinged on the existing use of the site, the abutment to existing residential gardens, and the proposed future longevity of commercial uses in the context of the adjacent site uses. JSA produced a scheme which not only caters for the client brief of unit spread and diversity, but also the creation of a design which promotes harmony with its surroundings.
The proposed scheme looks to achieve high levels of carbon offset and energy production, including the use of air-source heat pumps, a significant number of solar panels across all roof areas, and high levels of insulation throughout the built fabric.
